Her Favorite

Autumnal setting-sun moon beams across the water front.
Cooler now than it was a month ago.

Gentle rhythmic licks of salt fall upon the shore.
Within, teal blue foamed motions mold the sand.

Heavy stones, sharp but well worn line the coast, before it harbors,
nearer to her early lit up downtown patio post.

Fall breezes caress the warmth away, signaling sun season’s departure.

Coalescing currents of water, above and below the surface bring her pleasure; of the skin, of the eye, of the spirit.

Watching the sea move, yet stay, is love year round, but this particular positional alignment of the stars, anniversary, eases her mind, quite uniquely.

Leaves fall.

Change comes.

Her love lasts longer than shorter days.
Living 1900’s era loyalty to the best of oneself,
having been carried across millennia threshold,
made at home.

All seasons are beautiful but, this one is her favorite.
